What You Need To Know:

“Full Hearts Clear Backpacks” is one of the more morally rooted episodes of the MR. IGLESIAS sitcom on Netflix. Vice Principal Carlos hands out clear backpacks to each of the students so the faculty may see what they’re carrying into school. The students then protest as they feel that the clear backpacks are a violation of their privacy and rights as citizens of the United States. Carlos tries to gain more control over the students but fails when Gabe Iglesias, the history teacher, supports the students’ privacy while maintaining their learning environment.

The “Full Hearts Clear Backpacks” episode of MR. IGLESIAS is a little more serious than other episodes, but the episode is still well done. Overall, it has a strong moral worldview with some light patriotic elements supporting a couple American values. However, it’s marred by some light politically correct elements that create a picture of the American justice system that’s too negative. Also, it has some lewd jokes and foul language. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution overall for the “Full Hearts Clear Backpacks” episode of MR. IGLESIAS.

(BB, P, PC, AP, LL, S, A, M):

Dominant Worldview and Other Worldview Content/Elements:
  Strong moral worldview with light patriotic elements where teacher places students above his own interests and stands up for their liberty and privacy rights, but marred by some light politically correct, Anti-American elements mentioning brutality along with the failure of the justice system as a whole (the facts actually contradict this picture of the American justice system, which is too negative);

Foul Language:
  Nine mostly light obscenities, one light profanity, and teacher says several insults in Spanish that translate to a** hole in English;

  Student protest occurs but is simply verbal not physical;

  No physical sex but several lewd jokes are made, and Tony tries to get Gabe to convince Abby to move in next door to him so they can fornicate;

  No nudity;

Alcohol Use:
  The teachers go to a bar at the end of the workday;

Smoking and/or Drug Use and Abuse:
  No smoking or drugs; and,

Miscellaneous Immorality:
  One Spanish girl speaks about how she feels she is profiled regularly due to her race.
