What You Need To Know:
Sadly, SUPERBAD may ring true to many a high school/college experience of sex, drugs, and alcohol. The movie relies heavily on vulgarity and gross-out humor. The characters never seem to stop cursing, even when the situation does not call for it. There are also some explicit nude drawings in the movie. Just make sure your children and teenagers know the consequences of drugs and sexual promiscuity, and certainly don’t let younger viewers watch this. Glorifying the evils of sexual promiscuity and substance abuse is certainly abhorrent.

(PaPaPa, Ho, LLL, VV, SS, NNN, AAA, DD, M) Very strong pagan worldview in which anything goes in which sexual promiscuity is not only okay but encouraged, plus some homosexual elements; at least 100 obscenities and profanities; various fist fighting between drunken men, cops and teenager carelessly fire their guns at miscellaneous object for fun, with some blood; teenage boy has an obsession with drawing images of male body parts, sensual dancing at parties, drawn-out gag involving blood from a woman’s period, teenage boy and girl partially strip and almost fornicate, two other teenagers begin sex but are interrupted by the police, plus some hints that teenage boy may be a latent homosexual; graphic full male nudity in drawings, upper female nudity on a magazine cover, upper male nudity; excessive alcohol use and drunkenness; teenagers and adults smoke cigarettes and pot and snort cocaine; and, teenage boy lies to girl so he can “get lucky,” and another boy lies to cashier and the cops about his age so that he can get alcohol.
More Detail:
Seth and Evan set out to provide all of their high school peers with alcohol in the last great party of the year. Joining them on their “mission” is Evan’s nerdy friend, Fogell a.k.a. “McLovin” (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). Everything seems to go wrong, and the three teenagers lose all hope of making it to the party before it’s too late.
Sadly, SUPERBAD may ring true to many a high school/college experience of sex, drugs, and alcohol. The movie relies heavily on vulgar language and glorifies drug abuse and sexual promiscuity. Still, the movie has some genuine laugh-out-loud moments and even a little bit of heart. SUPERBAD sometimes feels aimless but still gets where it needs to go in the end. Without spoiling anything, the ending is very touching, and the characters learn some very important, yet very difficult, life lessons.
SUPERBAD probably won’t change your life for the better. If anything, you may never want your kids to go off to college after seeing this. Okay, maybe that’s a little extreme. . . . Just make sure your children and teenagers know the consequences of drugs and sexual promiscuity, and certainly don’t let younger viewers watch this. Glorifying sexual promiscuity and substance abuse is abhorrent.
