THE WONDER OF IT ALL

"More Moonwalker Testimonies"

Watch:

What You Need To Know:

THE WONDER OF IT ALL is another compelling documentary about the American astronauts in the Apollo Space Program who landed on the moon. The movie is composed mostly of interviews with seven of the 12 astronauts who walked on the moon. It is divided into several sections, such as Becoming a Hero, Making History, The Moon, Spirituality, and Reflections. The astronauts discuss the different aspects of their missions. They mention how focused everyone was on accomplishing that mission and doing their duty, but they also tell how the experience of landing and walking on the moon affected them then and now.

THE WONDER OF IT ALL is stirring and, at times, patriotic. The movie notes that the Apollo astronauts were supported by 455,000 people working at NASA. It also reminds viewers of the sacrifice and hard work that went into the program, which cost seven lives, including one traffic accident. Astronaut Charlie Duke, the 10th man to walk on the moon, puts everything into perspective, saying: “My service to God through my faith is an even greater service. . . . I want to be remembered as a man who did that.”

Content:

(BB, PP, CC, Pa, E, L, V, M) Strong moral, pro-American worldview with brief but strong Christian, biblical references to God, prayer, Christianity, and Holy Communion in several places, including a painting of an astronaut on the moon praying with the Cross reflected in his helmet visor, plus some New Age references to a vague pagan spirituality and a reference to mankind destroying Earth’s environment; two “h” words heard on the soundtrack in an anti-war chant from the 1960s; very light references to the Vietnam War and war in general, plus a picture of the Kent State University demonstrations in 1970 showing smoke rising on the campus; no sex; no nudity; no alcohol; no smoking; and, some light miscellaneous references to immorality, including some historical references to a rude anti-American protest and the Marxist tyranny of the Soviet Union, including its tyrannical founder, Lenin.

THE WONDER OF IT ALL is another compelling documentary about the American astronauts in the Apollo Space Program who landed on the moon. The movie is composed mostly of interviews with seven of the 12 astronauts who walked on the moon. It is divided into several sections, such as Becoming a Hero, Making History, The Moon, Back Home, Spirituality, and Reflections. The seven astronauts discuss the different aspects of the mission they were given.

Although one astronaut says he doesn’t think any of the men changed their religious beliefs because of their experiences, the astronauts do talk about the spiritual, emotional effect of walking on the moon and watching Earth from the moon, while sometimes mentioning God or faith in general.

Astronaut Charlie Duke, the 10th man to walk on the moon, puts everything into perspective, saying:

“My service to God through my faith is an even greater service. In Ecclesiastes, the important thing is to know God, to love God, and to walk humbly before God. I want to be remembered as a man who did that.”
