THE FIGHTER’s Mark Wahlberg encouraged people to pray in partnership with Hallow app.
“A lot of people ask me, how do you find time to pray every day?” Wahlberg said. “It’s easy. I wake up [at] 3 a.m., I get in the cold plunge, I work out a couple of times and I pray. That’s what I do.”
“But luckily, you don’t have to do all of that,” he said. “Just download Hallow, the number one prayer app in the world, and join in praying every single day. Whatever works for you, just take five minutes out of your day.”
On Sunday, Wahlberg recorded a video in front of a cross with Mario Lopez and Lopez’s daughter.
“Happy Sunday, everybody. God bless you,” Wahlberg said as he did the sign of the cross.
“Stay prayed up,” Lopez’s daughter said, borrowing Wahlberg’s phrase.
“God bless,” they all said at the end.
Wahlberg, a devout Catholic, said his life got brighter when he focused on his faith.
“Once I focused on my faith wonderful things started happening for me. And I don’t mean professionally — that’s not what it’s about. These days, I’ll be in church and people will come up to me and say: ‘Do you mind if I sit and pray with you?’ And they’ll start praying and it’ll turn out they’re praying for their new movie to be a success or whatever, and I’m like, this is not what I come here for,” he told the Catholic Herald.
“For me to sit down and ask for material things is ridiculous. It’s a much bigger picture than that,” he continued. ‘I want to serve God and to be a good human being and to make up for the mistakes I made and the pain I put people through. That’s what I’m praying for, and I recommend it to anybody.”
His works don’t matter that much to him compared to his relationship with God.
“Being a good actor or a good producer: that’s not going to help me sleep at night or get me into heaven,” he shared. “The most important thing from where I sit is to be a good father, a good husband, and a good human being – a man who helps his fellow man and raises his kids to be good human beings too. Every single aspect of my family life is joy”
On the TODAY show in 2023, Wahlberg said his faith means everything.
“God didn’t come to save the saints; He came to save the sinners,” he said. “We’ve all had things and issues in our lives, and we want to be better versions of ourselves, and, through focusing [on] my faith, it’s allowed me to do that.”
“The world affords you a lot of comfort, but we’re not made for comfort; we’re made for greatness,” he continued. “And in order to be [for] greatness, we got to be in the fight to get the rewards.”
As Wahlberg knows well, prayer is an important aspect of any relationship with God. You can always take a couple minutes to talk to Him.
