Q & A

Content:

Several profanities and obscenities; murder and violence; male nudity, prostitution, female impersonation, transvestism, sodomy, and other immoral perversions; racial epithets and slurs; blackmail and extortion; and, drug abuse

More Detail:

Expected to follow in his father’s footsteps, fresh-faced Assistant District Attorney Al Reilly is on his first case. His new boss is Quinn, chief of the Homicide Bureau, who makes repeated requests for an “open-and-shut” investigation into a self-defense shooting in Harlem by Lt. Detective Brennan. When a drug dealer makes a revealing slip in a “Q & A”, or interview, Reilly suspects Brennan of murder and starts looking for trouble in high places.

The kid proves tough, though, and as he tightens the noose around Brennan, the rogue cop sets out to blackmail, or murder, those who can incriminate him. A drug dealer and a female impersonator, meanwhile, team up to kill Brennan before he can kill them.

After a depraved wallowing in transvestism, a murder, a double-cross, and another murder, Brennan is finally killed in a shoot-out at the precinct. As for Quinn, his political aspirations affect too many people, so Reilly is forced to just bury the case.

The premise of the movie advocates loyalty to your own kind, regardless of right or wrong. At least that is what Brennan expects of Reilly, whose father he knew. Evidently, Brennan sees himself as “the line” between private citizenry and “the animals” — vicious criminals from other races, cultures and nationalities. Cubans, Hispanics, blacks, Jews, Latinos, Italians, Chinese, and the Irish all suffer cruel racial epithets in the film, while some are not deemed worthy of life at all.

Most of the suspense and drama involve shouting matches of obscenity and profanity. This is supposed to be entertaining? It’s not. There’s more: prostitution, drug use and a sickening tour into the nighttime world of female impersonators, whose sexual perversions and disgustingly immoral ways will not be described here. “For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret” (Ephesians 5:12).

Humans, unlike animals, don’t have to stick their foot into a trap to know it’s a trap. They can be told. Be forewarned. Q & A is a trap.
