INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2 haunts a fall doldrums weekend
Making more than twice the box office of last weekend’s winner INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2 captured this September weekend. It was followed by the vile newcomer THE FAMILY then by RIDDICK, THE BUTLER and WE’RE THE MILLERS. That’s three -3 (excessive) movies, one -4 (abhorrent) and one -2 (extreme caution).   The fall doldrums is a slow period at the box office in part because theaters get filled with movies Movieguide® rates with -2 (extreme caution) or worse.
On the bright side, Christian audiences can look forward to the October 4 release of GRACE UNPLUGGED, a truly outstanding movie.

The major studios appear to be on a violence binge. In an era when many are calling for gun control, Hollywood appears to be out of control in its love for guns and explosions.
