Nathan Grant and his niece learn that Nathan got promoted, which although exciting, means they’ll have to move to Union City, a town a few miles away. Carson Shepard is far away from his sweetheart, Faith Carter, but sadly, wont’ be able to see her for Christmas due to a scheduling conflict. Jesse Flynn tries to garner the attention of Clara Stanton, but she’s busy working at the town’s restaurant. To help ease her load, Clara asks Jesse to help pitch in and take orders.

Meanwhile, there’s a traveling salesman in town who hopes to make something of himself, but he’s having trouble making sales. Additionally, Elizabeth grapples with her grief of her late husband and the need to adjust.
