Candace Cameron Bure and her daughter Natasha Perry will present the Best Family Movie award at this year’s Movieguide® Gala, while both also being nominated for awards of their own.

“TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY was just nominated for Best Family Television/ Streaming by @movieguide!! Even more special though is the honor I have to be nominated for the Grace Award for Streaming alongside my beautiful daughter, @natashaperry. ❤️ I’m one very proud mom…or granddaughter for those who saw the movie! 😉” Bure said in an Instagram post ahead of the event.

The mother-daughter duo will present the Best Family Movie award to THE CHOSEN: LAST SUPPER – PART TWO, THE CHRISTMAS RING, DAVID, THE LAST RODEO or THE SENIOR.

Meanwhile, Bure and Perry were themselves nominated in two categories for their roles in Great American Family’s movie TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY. The movie was nominated for Best Family Television/Streaming, while both actresses were up for the Grace Prize® for Most Inspiring Performance for Streaming.

TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY was the first project in years to feature Bure and Perry alongside each other and was a heartwarming family movie about a granddaughter connecting with her grandmother’s legacy.

“It was so fun,” Perry told Movieguide® of working with her mom. “It’s really such a gift to work with people that you love and even more special to do it with your parents. So, it was a very incredible experience that I’m super grateful for. The whole time we were filming, [my mother and I] lived in an apartment together and we drove to set every day and it was amazing, so it just felt like the best bonding ever.”

“Well, it was a mom’s dream come true to work together,” Bure added. “I hope she walks up on that stage and takes that award tonight. I mean, there is nothing that would make me more proud. But, it’s incredible to be able to work with your child, with your kids — I mean, she’s not a kid — but I’m so proud of her and it’s a great night to celebrate.”

Bure and her family have been longtime supporters of the Movieguide® Awards, frequenting many of the events and sharing their gratitude for the work Movieguide® does. She even delivered the closing prayer at the 2024 event, asking the Lord that Hollywood would come to know Him.

“Lord, we come before you and we are so grateful that we are able to gather together in this room. Lord, my prayer for today is that all the people in this room would be bold for you, that they would continue to be bold in their scripts and their writing and producing and directing; that the fear of man would not be bigger than the fear and awe and reverence of you, Lord,” Bure said in part of her closing prayer. “And may every person in this room know you. And I pray that every heart in this room, and every heart that is watching this right now, pursue relentlessly so that they may know your mercy and love and grace.”

This year’s Movieguide® Award Gala will air on Great American Family on March 5, where viewers can find out who received the Best Family Movie award and whether Bure and Perry win any awards of their own.
