Great American Media just launched a new “40 Days of Scripture and Film” celebration to honor the season of Lent.
“We are humbled to announce ’40 Days of Scripture & Film’ — a special celebration beginning today and continuing through Easter Sunday, featuring a curated collection of beloved faith-based films along with new episodes from two Original Series and an Original Movie — premiering on Great American Pure Flix, Great American Family, and GFam+,” Great American Pure Flix shared on Instagram on Ash Wednesday.
In a press release, Great American Family described the programming as a “cross-platform Easter celebration,” and along with the movies and shows, GAF will also spotlight devotionals.

Throughout the 40 days, Great American Pure Flix will highlight faith-based films such as THE BLIND, THE GIRL WHO BELIEVES IN MIRACLES, 5000 BLANKETS, LEARNING TO LOVE, GOD’S NOT DEAD and more. The 40 days event will also include the Season 1 finale of CROSSROAD SPRINGS.
“Easter is about creating space for reflection and renewal,” Kaitlyn Haubrich, Chief Brand Officer, Great American Media, shared. “Through inspiring films and meaningful Scripture, we are inviting families to come together and prepare for the season in a way that is both personal and uplifting.”
“40 Days of Scripture and Film” will also feature the world premiere of the new movie BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE, which “follows Katie (Robins), a driven New York fashion designer with only three weeks to develop a collection that could launch her brand to national prominence. Under mounting pressure and searching for inspiration, Katie returns to her hometown where she chooses an unexpected venue to unveil her work – her late grandmother’s beloved seamstress shop, Charlotte’s Thread,” a synopsis of the film reads.
The movie stars Shae Robins (A CHRISTMAS PRAYER) and Casey Elliott (DESTINED AT CHRISTMAS) and will stream on Great American Pure Flix on March 27. It will air the following day on Great American Family and GFAM+.
“This film is a strong example of the kind of storytelling we prioritize at Great American Media,” Haubrich said. “BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE is about faith lived out through family, community, and everyday grace — reminding us that even when life feels uncertain, there is meaning being woven into every moment.”
The Lenten celebration will also see an all-new season of WHEN HOPE CALLS: BROOKFIELD begin streaming Thursday, April 2, on Great American Pure Flix, before airing on Great American Family and GFAM+ on Saturday, April 4.
GAF’s “40 Days of Scripture and Film” event will certainly prepare its viewers’ hearts to celebrate Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday.
