Diddy and His Children Distribute Money, Pay Rent in Miami Neighborhood

By Movieguide® Staff

Musician Sean Combs, aka “Diddy,” recently brought his children to a Miami neighborhood event in which the family passed out $50 bills and Publix Grocery Stores gift cards to hundreds of eager people. Diddy also partnered with Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success and music festival/nightlife organizer Michael Gardner to help 175 families with rental assistance.

This is not the first time Diddy donated to help families in need during the pandemic.

“COVID-19 is devastating our communities and without access to stimulus funding we risk losing critical businesses that create jobs and help build opportunities and wealth in our communities.” Diddy said in April. “I created Our Fair Share to help entrepreneurs play on an even playing field and give them a chance to survive with the hope to thrive.”

Our Fair Share is an online platform dedicated to helping minority small business owners through the economic hardships brought on by the pandemic.

Also in April, Diddy hosted a dance-a-thon, which raised more than $3.4 million in donations that were given to Direct Relief, a non-profit humanitarian organization that supplies medical equipment to communities affected by poverty.

Diddy is a single father to six children.

Together, the family formed Combs Cartel.

“So, it’s something that they’re excited about because they’re now part of the family business. They’re now ready to step up and be leaders and so it’s really about that,” Diddy said. “It’s really about what are the goals we’re going to set for what we’re going to do to come out of this better and stronger.
