How This Country Star Will Give Back to His Hometown Devastated by the Pandemic

Country musician Kane Brown teamed up with Lowe’s to give back to his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

“We will be making renovations and repairs that will help the East Lake Boys & Girls Club continue to be the ‘home away from home’ for youth. This club is incredibly special – despite facing many challenges in 2020 due to COVID, they still found meaningful ways to support and uplift kids and families during an incredibly difficult time for everyone,” Brown announced.

Brown, 27, partnered with Lowes in the retail company’s new campaign, “100 Hometowns.” The projects will help small businesses that were devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brown, a former employee of Lowe’s, shared his connection with the city and his hardship growing up.

“Lowe’s is going to help me fix it up. They’re going to tear down walls, paint walls, they’re going to just make it a whole new place for these kids to become friends and just have a safe place to visit,” Brown told Fox News. “I grew up in a rough place, so I wish I had something like that. That’s why I got so close to the Boys & Girls Club over the past couple of years. So I’m just so excited that Lowe’s is reaching out and helping them,” the 27-year-old said.

Lowe’s has committed $10 million to help 100 communities across America to complete projects to restore, build and beautify their neighborhoods.

“I just wish there was that one person that would have reached out and helped my mom when she was struggling or, or held my Nana when she was struggling and just kind of been there for us,” Brown said.

Despite his fame, the CMT award-winner said that he still has a home with the people of Chattanooga.

“They’re always there for me so it felt great to be able to go back and just to see family again. That’s what it is all about,” Brown said.
