Multitalented Jessica Lowndes Wants to Inspire Hope Through GAC Family’s HARMONY OF THE HEART

In a recent interview with Digital Journal, actress Jessica Lowndes shared some thoughts on her new movie airing on GAC Family, HARMONY OF THE HEART.

“I hope viewers and fans get hope out of this film whether they can resonate with the story or the hope of finding love or the hope of getting their dream job,” she told DJ.

A celebration of love just in time for Valentine’s Day, GAC Family described how HARMONY OF THE HEART follows “a music therapist and an established physician [who] initially clash over the care of a shared patient. But as Valentine’s Day approaches, they might find that music and love make excellent remedies.”

Lowndes fills the prominent role of the movie’s lead character, Violet, and took on technical roles as executive producer and songwriter.

Lowndes performed several of the movie’s original songs, which she wrote and produced. The actress plans to release her song titled “11:11” on several music streaming platforms.

As Lowndes juggles several roles in this production, she expressed how grateful she is to be a filmmaker and actress in the digital age.

“It is wonderful. I can work remotely, it’s the mobile office life,” she said. “I can’t stop writing. I love it more than anything. There is no better feeling than seeing your idea come to life from start to finish. It is really exciting that this movie is getting out into the world.”

Lowndes said that her inspiration for HARMONY OF THE HEART came to her after failing to book a television pilot. Lowndes vowed to write every night for an hour.

“It was the first time that I wrote ‘The End’ in a document. When I was doing my research, I was absolutely blown away by the capacity music has to heal people,” she explained. “I wanted to shed some light on this incredible form of therapy so I wrote a movie about it and I tied in romance.”

Fellow Hallmark veteran Jesse Metcalfe stars alongside Lowndes as a heart surgeon and romantic antagonist, Blake Williams. Metcalfe and Lowndes are among a growing list of Hallmark Channel fixtures who have found a new creative outlet at GAC Family.

As reported by Movieguide®:

The network, which was known as Great American Country, was acquired by Bill Abbott, former President and CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, the parent company of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

The network rebranded and became available on September 27, 2021. It has since been building its own programming powerhouse after signing several Hallmark stars to exclusive production deals. Jen Lilly is their most recent, following Trevor Donovan and Danica McKellar. Viewers are following the move away from Hallmark as they search for a network channel which offers good content, godly principles and programs which align with their Christian faith. Lowndes offers these parting thoughts on HARMONY OF THE HEART:

“The escapism aspect is huge. I feel so lucky to be able to do these types of movies. The world needs these films more than ever right now. I hope people fall in love with Violet and Blake Williams, and I hope they are able to escape.”

HARMONY OF THE HEART premieres Saturday, February 12 on the GAC Family network.
