Anthony Mackie to Star in Upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA 4

By Movieguide® Staff

Actor Anthony Mackie, who first donned the stars and stripes of the iconic comic-book superhero Captain America in the series THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER, is set to pick up the shield once again in an upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA movie.

The new movie is the fourth movie surrounding “Cap,” and is helmed by Julius Onah, the director of THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX.

Chris Evans previously played the avenger until 2019 in AVENGERS: ENDGAME.

While CAPTAIN AMERICA and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER earned nominations and wins at the Movieguide® Awards Gala for their moral worldviews, Disney’s series tended toward a politically correct agenda.

A portion of Movieguide®’s review reads:

The first three episodes of THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER have their exciting, humorous and profound moments. However, the program is literally set in a “broken world,” where the lines between good and evil, right and wrong are sometimes blurry or murky. There’s plenty of action violence and some foul language in each of the first three episodes of THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER. Also, there are some light, occasional politically correct moments. Therefore, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.

Movieguide® previously reported:

As Captain America’s shield changes hands both on screen and in the comics, Dean Cain called out the “woke” culture that’s fueling Captain America storylines.

“I love the concept of Captain America, but I am so tired of all of this wokeness and anti-Americanism,” Cain said in an interview with FOX AND FRIENDS.

“I find this wokeness, it’s pervasive,” Cain says. “It goes through everything. It’s in our school system. The cool thing to do today is bash America. The comic books do it. The schools indoctrinate our kids. Our movies or television shows is full of it. Celebrities, actors, athletes, the media, they love to bash America. I don’t get it.”

A portion of Movieguide®’s review of CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER reads:

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER is a terrific action movie. It hits all the right plot points and adds some nifty twists. Once again, Chris Evans does a superb job as the iconic hero. The supporting players are also excellent. Happily, THE WINTER SOLIDER has a strong Christian, redemptive, moral, patriotic worldview with an overt baptism and other Christian symbolism. Captain America and his friends are protecting both American liberty and world freedom. THE WINTER SOLDIER warrants caution, however, for intense action violence and brief foul language.

Producers on the new CAPTAIN AMERICA movie will cater to a larger crowd if they follow the themes and patriotism of their older movies.

This was recently proven in TOP GUN: MAVERICK, which broke Box Office records.
