Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning to Host This Year’s CMA Awards

The Country Music Association just announced their hosts for the 2022 CMA awards ceremony: Country star Luke Bryan and future NFL hall of fame quarterback Peyton Manning will host the CMA, and they could not be more excited.
“Being a part of such a historical night that honors my peers and country music is such a privilege,” Bryan, who hosted the event last year, said in a statement. “When I was asked if Peyton Manning is someone I would consider co-hosting with, I didn’t hesitate.”
He continued, “We have become great friends through the years, and what he brings to the table is gonna make it even more of a blast. I know he’s been to the CMA Awards before, but he’s never been with me. Hey Peyton, I hope you’re ready for the night of your life!”
Manning shared Bryan’s enthusiasm, saying, “I cannot wait to head to Nashville and take the CMA Awards stage alongside my friend Luke Bryan. I am such a huge fan of Country Music, so to have the chance to stand among so many incredibly talented artists is an absolute honor.”
“Just when we thought we couldn’t top Luke’s explosive energy and signature charm as host of last year’s CMA Awards, we’re bringing him back alongside sports legend Peyton Manning for Country Music’s Biggest Night,” Walt Disney Television Executive Vice President, Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment Rob Mills said. “Their dynamic chemistry and magnetic friendship is the perfect anchor for this year’s star-studded show.”
The 2022 CMA Awards will take place in Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and will air live on Wednesday, November 9.
Though this is Manning’s first awards show, the former footballer has made a name for himself as a host elsewhere.

The setup: Trios of students from 12 top colleges and universities face off for big scholarship money (the pot is now $1 million), spurred on by video messages from famed alumni. (Michigan’s booster? Manning’s longtime rival, Tom Brady!)
Older brother Cooper also hosts a podcast featuring some of the biggest names in sports called “Soup with Coop” and earned national recognition for “The Manning Hour” on FOX NFL Sunday.
“They have this great dynamic,” executive producer David Friedman said. “It almost feels like the brothers are hosting the show from the family basement.”
The show airs on NBC at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesdays.
