What You Need To Know:

In SCREAM VI, the four young survivors from the previous Ghostface killings leave small town California behind and settle in New York City. Samantha Carpenter, who killed the last Ghostface fiend, has moved to the Big Apple to protect her younger sister, Tara, who’s going to college there. Two friends have joined them, and Tara has befriended three new people. A new Ghostface killer starts stalking, taunting and attacking them. He stalks two other people from their hometown, Reporter Gale Weathers, who’s now working in New York, and a previous victim, who’s now an FBI agent.

SCREAM VI has a suspenseful plot with many twists. So, unlike the last SCREAM movie, it holds the viewer’s interest, despite a drawn out ending. However, SCREAM VI is the bloodiest SCREAM movie yet. There’s a lot of extreme bloody mayhem throughout the movie. Many people are stabbed, and a few people are shot. SCREAM VI has more than 100 obscenities and profanities. So, although the story’s intent is to stop the evil killer, the movie has excessive graphic violence and too much gratuitous foul language.

In SCREAM VI, the four young survivors from the previous Ghostface killings leave small town California behind and settle in New York City, where one of the women tries to protect her younger sister, who’s going to college, but a new masked killer starts stalking, taunting and attacking them. SCREAM VI has a suspenseful plot with many twists, but there’s a lot of bloody mayhem throughout the movie and more than 100 obscenities and profanities.

The movie begins with a college student working with an unknown accomplice who lures a blonde film professor into an alley next to a restaurant, then stabbing her to death while he wears the black Ghostface costume. He returns to his apartment, only to be attacked and murdered by another masked Ghostface killer, who’s already killed the young man’s roommate.

Meanwhile, after having killed the Ghostface killer in the previous installment, Samantha Carpenter has moved to New York City to watch over her younger sister, Tara, who’s going to college there. Two other friends from Woodsboro, Calif., where the other Ghostface murders occurred, have followed them, Chad and Mindy Meeks. Tara has befriended three other people at college, a young man named Ethan and two coeds, Anika and Quinn, whose father works for the NYPD.

The blonde professor happens to be teaching a film class on mad slasher movies that both Ethan and Tara are taking. The young man who killed her was also taking the class. Tara and Samantha are concerned that the new Ghostface killer will target them and their friends. Sure enough, he starts doing exactly that.

So, the question becomes, can they turn the tables on this new fiend? Also, does he have an accomplice, like three of the previous Ghostface killers did?

SCREAM VI has a suspenseful plot with many twists. So, unlike the last SCREAM movie, it holds the viewer’s interest, despite a drawn out ending. Also, Courteney Cox of FRIENDS returns to the franchise, as Reporter Gale Weathers. In addition, Hayden Panettiere returns as a previous Ghostface victim who’s become an FBI agent.

The cinematic gimmick for this new SCREAM outing is that Mindy tells her friends that the Ghostface killer saga has become like a movie franchise, not just an ordinary slasher movie. Mindy reminds them that, in a movie franchise, each sequel must be more spectacular than the last sequel. She also thinks that, in such a franchise, no one is safe. So, even though the killer seems to be targeting Samantha and Tara, any one of their friends is a target.

SCREAM VI follows this pattern. As a result, it’s probably the bloodiest SCREAM movie yet. There’s a lot of extreme bloody mayhem throughout the movie.
