Lauren Daigle Releases Third Track “New” from Latest Self-Titled Album

By Movieguide® Contributor

Two-Time Grammy Award winner, Lauren Daigle just released a third track called, “New.”

Her lyrics sing, “God put you in my life for such a time as this. I don’t see the old you I just see the new.”

In her new album, Daigle paired up with Grammy Award winning producer, Mike Elizondo.

Daigle created a different work on this album but still however, showcased her incredible voice and talent musically.

Daigle is almost ready to release her new album which will be ready May 12, 2023. The first song she released was, “Thank God I Do” and the follow-up to that “Waiting,” which both have been hits.

Movieguide® previously reported on Daigle’s method for song writing:

Christian artist Lauren Daigle shared her songwriting process on episode six of her weekly podcast Daigle Bites.

“I’ll be on a walk and just [be] talking with God, working things out, [just] telling Him my fears and insecurities and things that I’m wrestling with and then I’ll bring those into the surface of the conversation when I get in the room with songwriters,” said Daigle.

Daigle is known for her very raw, spiritual songs.

In 2019, Daigle won Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “You Say” along with Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at the Grammy Awards.

Part of the lyrics to Daigle’s popular faith-filled song “You Say” read:

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don’t belong, oh, You say I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh, I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe

Although Daigle writes most of her own music, she credited her songwriting team for all their work and said, “collaboration is one of my favorite things.”

Daigle knows that creativity doesn’t always come to people with ease. So, she offered a practical tip.

“The greatest practice is doing it often, writing often, thinking in a creative headspace often. Letting that kind of faucet just be turned on,” said Daigle.

She also added, “Creativity is the one faucet, I think, that you don’t have to always worry, ‘Is this going to cost me a lot of money to have the water running all the time?’”
