Megastar Justin Bieber posted a word of encouragement about being mindful of our thoughts.

“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God,” Bieber posted on X. “And break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God.”

“We capture like prisoners of war [e]very thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One,” he continued.

These words come from 2 Corinthians 10:5 where Paul wrote to believers (and future Beliebers) to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Sprinkled among posts of him and his wife Hailey, snaps of adorable son Jack Blues and pics of new Skylrk merchandise are biblical nuggets of wisdom.

Recently the “Freedom” singer posted about the cost of being a light to the world and how are identity shifts as we follow Jesus.

“Darkness doesn’t like being exposed, so people sometimes react with anger, mockery, or rejection (John 3:19-20),” the 31-year-old posted on Instagram. “Justin being vocal about Jesus means he shines that light in a very public way.”

“Instead of being defined by fame, mistakes, or public opinion, he identifies as a child of God. That challenges worldly values, which glorify self, success, and image,” he went on to say.

He added that that shift in identity can lead to others being “uncomfortable” and even persecution.

“As…pointed out, Jesus warned His followers they would be hated for His name (John 15:18-19),” he wrote.

“His past mistakes are public, but so is his redemption. That makes him a walking picture of God’s forgiveness,” Bieber wrote towards the end of the post.

The star has come under scrutiny recently for his posts showing erratic behavior and posts of him smoking marijuana that has raised concerns of his mental and spiritual state.

Bieber has been open in the past about fighting drug addiction that started when he was 13 years old, along with anger issues.

“I know I’m broken. I know I have anger issues. I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people told me I needed to be fixed like them,” he wrote, per The Hollywood Reporter.

He admitted the more he tried to deal with his anger issues, the angrier he would become, adding, “The harder I try to grow, the more focused on myself I am. Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others.”

His mom, Pattie Mallette, even posted a prayer for healing over her son on Instagram that read, in part, “I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin. Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain — be broken in Jesus’ name.”

We agree in prayer with Mallette as Bieber leans on Christ to overcome struggles common for believers and as he works through the unique challenge of working through them as a public figure.
