Gab Introduces Gab Clips, a TikTok Alternative
By Movieguide® Contributor
Gab recently announced Gab Clips, a new feature that allows users to post short videos, similar to TikTok videos and Instagram Reels.
“Gab Clips is all about building connections and fostering creativity,” Gab announced.
The social media platform emerged in 2016 and prides itself on being “the home of free speech.”
“Gab is a…technology company owned and operated by Christians,” the company’s website says. “We build online services that are free from the control and influence of Silicon Valley and special interests,” and “Gab’s values are grounded in our Christian faith in Jesus Christ.”
Gab’s new feature empowers “you to express yourself creatively in exciting and dynamic ways. Whether you’re a comedian, musician, artist, educator or someone who simply loves sharing life’s moments, Gab Clips is the space for you to shine and reach a wider audience.”
“Gab Clips brings a fresh and captivating experience to the Gab community with its portrait-style format. Just like TikTok, you can create short, engaging videos that keep viewers hooked,” the platform added.
Gab also integrated Gab TV onto Gab Social to streamline the user experience, and the platform revamped its media player, making it easier to use.
Despite Gab’s clear stance against “illegal activity, threats of violence, doxxing, pornography, child exploitation and spam,” it has been attacked by several individuals and organizations.
Movieguide® previously reported on attacks made against Gab:
Gab and its team experienced attacks rooted in spiritual warfare…
[Gab CEO Andrew Torba] said, ‘Our families faced threats of violence and extortion from a demonic group of people who hate free speech. The Governor of Texas smeared our community of millions of people for reasons we still don’t understand. The [Anti-Defamation League] and others have called for me to be thrown in jail and for Gab to be shut down by the federal government.’
