Dolphins QB Shares His Support for SOUND OF FREEDOM

By Movieguide® Contributor

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa shared his support for SOUND OF FREEDOM in a recent press conference.

Tagovailoa shared that the team recently bonded during their day off by going to dinner and watching movies, Fox News reported.

“It was like a movie fest yesterday. Just movie hopping,” the quarterback said, adding that while he liked OPPENHEIMER, he was especially impressed by SOUND OF FREEDOM.

“SOUND OF FREEDOM is good. Yeah, SOUND OF FREEDOM is definitely really good,” Tagovailoa told the press. “You guys should watch that. Especially you guys with kids.”

Tagovailoa isn’t the first NFL player to mention the movie. Earlier this month, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. tweeted, “SOUND OF FREEDOM. I don’t even know what to say. That’s heavy.”

SOUND OF FREEDOM has been this summer’s biggest surprise hit and one of the most successful independent movies in recent years. Because of its popularity within the U.S., the movie recently expanded to begin showing in theaters worldwide.

However, despite its clear success and important message, the movie’s politicization has associated it with conspiracy theories, which has regrettably alienated some audience members.

The movie’s director, Alejandro Monteverde, recently went on a press tour to defend the legitimacy of his movie.

Movieguide® previously reported:

SOUND OF FREEDOM creator and director Alejandro Monteverde recently went on a press tour to lament the politicization of his movie and debunk its supposed ties to conspiracy theories.

“The movie has become a circus on the political spectrum,” Monteverde told USA Today.

While the movie takes no overt political stance, it was quickly attributed to right-wing politics and attacked by numerous liberal news sources.
