By Movieguide® Contributor

Due to illness, singer and dancer Donny Osmond canceled two shows in Las Vegas.

Express News reported, “Donny Osmond, formerly one-fifth of the musical group ‘The Osmonds’ along with four of his brothers, has had disaster strike as sudden ‘illness’ has forced him to cancel shows this week.”

Osmond informed his X followers Tuesday night, “I am heartbroken to let you know that I will be cancelling tonight and tomorrow’s shows at Harrah’s Las Vegas due to illness.”

“The health and safety of everyone on stage and attending the show is the number one priority,” he added.

The singer offered an apology and even allowed refunds for purchased tickets.

“I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this caused and appreciate your understanding. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will automatically be refunded, otherwise please contact your point of purchase for their refund,” Osmond concluded.

Heavy reports that the singer has been “headlining a solo residency at Harrah’s Las Vegas since August 2021.  In August 2023, it was confirmed that the residency will now go until late 2024, per the Los Angeles Times.”

There was no elaboration regarding what illness he is suffering from, but fans were quick to offer prayers for his recovery.

One of Osmond’s followers on Instagram wrote, “For you to cancel, you must be quite ill. Take care. Prayers for a speedy recovery. I am sure this is hard for an ultimate performer such as you!!”

Another added, “Knowing how hard working you are it must be serious otherwise you’d be out there on stage. Feel better soon Donny.”

In a recent feature from PEOPLE, Donnie talked about the importance of family—something he always puts before performing.

“That’s what balances my life out,” Osmond told PEOPLE. “Family is the most important thing, because the curtain will come down eventually, and then what do you have?”
