Tim Tebow Reveals What Motivates Him to Fight Human Trafficking

After more than a decade since he began his fight against worldwide human trafficking, Tim Tebow explains what keeps him motivated to continue fighting for the most vulnerable.

“Over the last decade, I’ve learned so many things in this fight against one of the worst evils in the world,” Tebow said. “I think one of the biggest [lessons] is just how massive this problem is, how even sometimes when you think about it, it almost feels unbearable just how big it is. I think when you realize that it’s happening in our backyard here in Jacksonville, Florida, but it’s also happening everywhere around the world; it feels really daunting.”

“That’s one reason I think we have to remember how big our God is, and we also have to remember the wins, and we have to stay motivated to get to the next [person] because the statistics are daunting, but the life is worth it,” he continued.

“Over the last ten years we’ve been able to celebrate so many wins, but I think what motivates me more is the losses,” Tebow added. “How many more could we have gotten to?…I think that’s what’s motivating. I don’t think you can always stay motivated based on statistics because [they’re] hard to wrap your mind around, but you can stay motivated based on a person, based on our encounters.”

During its ten-plus years in operation, the Tim Tebow Foundation has impacted tens of thousands of lives as it seeks to restore dignity to those who have been exploited. The ministry currently operates in 32 countries worldwide in the fight against human trafficking.

Through the organization’s efforts, over 3,500 people have been saved from a life of exploitation and abuse.

The fight against human trafficking found a new voice in the past year largely due to the success of the SOUND OF FREEDOM educating people on the scope of the operation. The most current statistics estimate that over 40 million people are currently trapped within this criminal enterprise.

Thankfully, through the work of Tebow and many others, these criminals are finally facing justice as millions are being freed from this oppressive system. While those running the operations have long evaded justice for their actions, recent advancements have aided law enforcement’s ability to track down those running the industry.

AI company Cellebrite is joining the fight against child trafficking by donating its technology to law enforcement and nonprofits working to fight the horrific global enterprise.

As an estimated $150 billion-a-year industry, human trafficking is one of the largest criminal industries in the world. Unfortunately, America is one of its major hubs, and law enforcement officers struggle to keep up with the overwhelming numbers.

2022 alone saw nearly 360,000 cases of missing children, while the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received more than 32 million reports of suspected child sexual exploitation. Along with the unimaginable numbers, technology has made it even harder to track down the criminals.

“The pimps of the day, the gangs of today are way smarter than the sex trafficking gangs of the past,” John Walsh, the co-founder of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and long-time host of AMERICA’S MOST WANTED, told The Associated Press. “They’re way more dangerous. They move faster. They have encrypted files. They’re smart. And law enforcement just can’t keep up with them.”

Cellebrite, however, hopes to help by donating its data processing tools to nonprofits fighting against human trafficking.
