Zach and Tori Roloff Remind Parents to ‘Find the Goodness in Life’

Zach and Tori Roloff are reminding parents to “find the goodness” in life.

“I really try hard to bring into our parentingthe idea that ‘You don’t have to, you get to,’” Tori explained in an episode of their podcast. “I think that’s something we use in our parenting all the time because I think that’s really important….going out to dinner; you don’t have to go out to dinner, you get to be at a table with your family, and you get to talk and interact with one another.”

She continued, “You have to find the goodness in those things to enjoy life more.”

The couple also talked about what they want to work on as parents.

“I would love to be better at not getting so frustrated,” Tori shared. “I think I still have this idea that the house needs to be perfect and the kids need to look perfect, and I think I need to do a better job of letting things go to be a better parent for my kids.”

Zach pointed to his views on discipline, saying he can be “reactionary.”

“I react instead of responding,” he said. “Sometimes I feel like I’m reacting because I’m angry—it should be in a space of ‘I’m helping the child fix the behavior.’”

The couple then shared some words of wisdom for other parents who are struggling with different aspects of parenting.

“If you take anything away from this podcast…if you’re wanting to be on this journey of better parenting, just like we are, I think that being reflective with your spouse is the number one way to do it,” Tori said. “If you and your spouse are on the same page with parenting, you’re already on the right path to being better.”

The Roloffs recently marked the end of their time on LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG WORLD, which they announced on their podcast.

“That part of our lives, that chapter, has closed,” Tori said, with Zach adding, “I think the chapter has closed regardless of us being asked back or not. We’ve made it pretty clear we’re done with that chapter for multiple reasons, the reasons we will get into here.”

Part of the reason the couple decided to step away from the reality show is the impact it might have on their children.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the couple “acknowledged that it is difficult to film with kids and Tori noted that their firstborn son, Jackson, has already expressed not wanting to be involved at certain times. However, they also made it clear that they do not blame their kids for ultimately deciding not to continue with the show.”

Zach and Tori Roloff are saying goodbye to LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG WORLD.

“We are done. That part of our lives, that chapter has closed,” Tori said in an episode of the couple’s podcast, RAISING HEIGHTS.

They have also spoken about wanting to avoid the “misconceptions” people might have about them and their family after seeing them on TV.

Tori had previously hinted that the couple would bow out of LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG WORLD. In a 2022 Instagram Q&A, she said their time on the show is “definitely coming to a close, but we’re trying to enjoy it while it’s here!”

Tori and Zach did stress that their reality TV experiences were not all bad.

“There were moments in reality tv that we loved and moments that we didn’t, but overall we’re grateful to our crew and our producer, and we’re excited for our next chapter!” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post.
