LIFEMARK follows David as his “comfortable world is turned upside down when his birthmother unexpectedly reaches out to him, longing to meet the 18-year-old son she’s only held once. With the encouragement of his adoptive parents, David embarks on a journey of discovery that leads to a staggering truth from his past.”
CrossWalk reported that it made it into “the Top 5 in roughly a dozen Latin American countries, including No. 1 in Argentina, Venezuela and Uruguay. It was No. 2 in Guatemala and Ecuador, No. 3 in Brazil, Peru, Chile and Mexico, and No. 4 in Colombia and Honduras. It’s known as MARCA DE VIDA in those countries and tallied 3.5 million views worldview for the week.”
It stars Kirk Cameron as the adoptive father, and Raphael Ruggero plays David. It’s executive produced by Cameron and the Kendrick Brothers.
Stephen Kendrick shared that he hopes LIFEMARK “will not only save a lot of lives, but we’re hoping that it will inspire a lot of believers to support adoption in their local communities, whether they adopt a child [or] whether they support other friends that are adopting. We’ve got some friends that God led them to adopt [but] they could not afford it at all. But believers surrounded them, and started giving and supporting them, and just beautifully came alongside them, and provided what they needed.”
The film is available for streaming in the U.S. via Great American Pure Flix.
A part of Movieguide®’s review reads:
LIFEMARK is a faith-based drama about an 18-year-old teenager, David, who has tried to hide the fact he’s adopted until his a biological parents try to contact him. One day, David comes home, and his parents who raised him tell him his biological mother wants to meet him. Deciding to meet his birth mother, David hears from his biological father and must decide if he would like to meet him as well. Will David be able to be open with them and listen to what they have to say about giving him up for adoption?
LIFEMARK is a well-made, heartwarming, inspiring movie produced by the Kendrick Brothers and Kirk Cameron, who also stars. The movie is solid throughout, with a positive Christian worldview. The movie promotes relying on God, believing God’s plan, forgiveness, and loving others. There’s also a beautiful pro-life message about adoption, giving life and the value of life. Don’t let the PG-13 rating stop you from seeing this movie. The movie’s themes about abortion and pro-life issues are the reason the Hollywood elites are giving LIFEMARK such a tough rating.
