NBC Just Dropped Its Fall Schedule — When’s Your Favorite Show Airing?

By Movieguide® Contributor

NBC just released its fall premiere schedule, from returning favorites like LAW & ORDER: SVU and THE VOICE to new shows like HAPPY’S PLACE.

Per Deadline, the network’s fall programming schedule kicks off with sports, with the NFL KICKOFF airing Sept. 5.

THE VOICE returns for its 26th season on Sept. 23 with new coaches Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, as well as returning coaches Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani.

“Since Reba is the queen of THE VOICE who brings the sparkle, I can be the king who brings the style, the funk and the fun,” Snoop Dogg said of his new role as coach.

The popular One Chicago franchise returns Sept. 25, with CHICAGO MED, CHICAGO FIRE and CHICAGO P.D. all celebrating season premieres that night. Fellow crime procedurals LAW & ORDER and LAW & ORDER: SVU will premiere Oct. 3.

The new sitcom, HAPPY’S PLACE, led by McEntire, will have its series premiere on Oct. 18. Movieguide® previously reported:

Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman are reuniting for a new sitcom.

The pair previously starred in REBA together. Now, they are set to work alongside each other in a still-unnamed NBC pilot.

“The pilot follows Bobbie (McEntire) who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had,” Deadline reported. “Peterman will portray Gabby, a bartender who has worked at the tavern for quite some time. She is a bit needy and dramatic and would have loved to be Bobbie’s sister.”

Popular sitcom LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ will have its Season 3 premiere that same night.

Star Mayan Lopez, daughter of co-star and comedian George Lopez, talked to Deadline about what acting alongside her father has taught her about their relationship.

“Playing Mayan has been interesting because it’s helped me in real life to be open to giving him more chances,” she said of their relationship on- and off-screen. “His relationship with Mayan (on the show) differs from ours in real life. But playing Mayan has inspired me because I’m almost able to see things play out safely since a part of me is still a little scared. Playing her and seeing how she gives her dad a chance, inspired me to look more into my relationship with my father and push where I’m comfortable. I think playing our characters has helped that seem more of a tangible idea that we could bring into our real lives.”

Movieguide® previously reported on LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ:

Mayan Lopez says working with her father, comedian George Lopez, on the sitcom LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ is “very healing.”

“I think we have a deep respect for each other,” Mayan explained. “I think when we go past those doors, we are, yes, father and daughter between scenes. He’ll give me a hug, he’ll give me a kiss.”

She continued, “We’re always connected, but we can put our hats on and be creative and critical of each other in ways that it’s just two performers talking to each other and to feel safe, which is something that I haven’t always felt with him. To feel that now, it’s very healing.”

Mayan and George’s relationship was rocky for nearly a decade after his split from her mother, and the two were not on speaking terms. In 2020, the pair started to repair their relationship, which led to LOPEZ VS. LOPEZ, a show that tells a fictional version of their own struggles.
