By Movieguide® Contributor

Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman are reuniting for a new sitcom.

The pair previously starred in REBA together. Now, they are set to work alongside each other in a still-unnamed NBC pilot.

“The pilot follows Bobbie (McEntire) who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had,” Deadline reported. “Peterman will portray Gabby, a bartender who has worked at the tavern for quite some time. She is a bit needy and dramatic and would have loved to be Bobbie’s sister.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the upcoming pilot:

Reba McEntire is coming back to the small screen with a new sitcom for NBC.

The country singer will star as a woman who “inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had,” perVariety.

Deadline reported, “This is the first official pilot order for the 2024 broadcast pilot season, which was impacted by the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.”

The show — still untitled — will see McEntire team up with Kevin Abbott, writer and executive producer, and Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis and Julie Abbott as executive producers. The group previously worked on McEntire’s hit show REBA.

Peterman posted about the casting announcement on Instagram, writing, “This. This is why I have been smiling ALL the time. I am thrilled to share the news that I get another chance to work with my friends. Buckle up @reba We are going to have some fun!”

BLUE BEETLE star Belissa Escobedo is also joining the cast as Bobbie’s sister, Isabella, “an enthusiastic 20-something, who has studied psychology and loves to analyze people. She is thrilled to start working at the tavern and is full of ‘great’ ideas about how to bring it to life.”

Escobedo also posted about her role on the sitcom.

“I’ve been waiting to share this!!!! REBA!!! This cast!!! This script!!! No amount of exclamation marks can do it justice,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am so immensely grateful. The last two years have been an uphill battle (thank you Miley) so this is so very welcomed and appreciated. AHHHH!!!!!!!!”
