Simone Biles came to the 2024 Paris Olympics as the most decorated gymnast in history. With seven Olympic medals and 30 World Championship wins, the elite gymnast is no stranger to winning.

While many doubted Team USA going into Paris, Biles and teammates Jordan Chiles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera were ready to prove the doubters wrong.

They did just that.

Per Olympics.com, “The U.S. totalled a 171.296, well clear of silver medallists Italy (165.494). Brazil won the bronze, a historic first, with a finals score of 164.497.”

These Olympics were different for Team USA. Since their silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Carey, Chiles, Lee and Biles have faced injury, illness and mental health struggles.

“This is definitely our redemption tour,” Biles said at the Olympic Trials before Paris. “I feel like we all have more to give… I feel like we have a lot of weight on our shoulders to go out there and prove that we’re better athletes, we’re more mature, we’re smarter, we’re more consistent.”

Through their unbreakable bond, Team USA rallied behind one another and focused on enjoying every moment as well as competing on their own terms.

After their win in Paris, Biles told the media, “We’re super excited. We’re honored to represent the U.S. every time we get on a world’s stage, but accomplishing that gold and that goal was just an amazing feeling. And I think we all had something to prove from Tokyo and tonight we did just that.”

Biles’ floor routine secured gold for her team.

“The United States women’s gymnastics team took home gold in the team final Tuesday, and a celebration ensued immediately when the group saw Simone Biles’ 14.666 score on her floor routine, which secured the precious medal in Paris,” Fox News Digital reported.

Movieguide® previously reported on Team USA’s “redemption” tour:

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles and her fellow USA gymnastics team are ready for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Biles and her teammates — Suni LeeJordan ChilesJade Carey and Hezly Rivera — joined TODAY’s Hoda Kotb to discuss their goals and aspirations ahead of the big event.

“Deja vu, but also I feel like a little bit of a redemption tour,” Biles told Kotb. “In Tokyo, we all didn’t have our best performances, so we’re excited to go out there and kill it.”

Kotb alluded to the fact that sometimes the Olympic Trials are tougher than the actual Olympics.

“Because of the depth that the U.S. has. It’s so incredible, so we’re all fighting for basically the same position,” Biles explained. “But that’s what makes Team USA Team USA. We have grit, we have power, we have grace. We kind of have everything. So [we’re] just fighting for that spot.”
