Former Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis celebrated his daughter’s first birthday over the weekend.
“Love you, baby girl,” the free agent wrote alongside photos of his daughter, Monroe. “Very hard for me to really put into words the way I feel about you, I never loved someone as much as I love you. When you come to me with your arms out wanting me to hold you, it’s the best feeling knowing I’m the one you look for comfort, protection, and love.”
“Most important thing in my life rn is YOU, I’m not perfect and nor will I ever be, but I’ll try my best to be the best father I can for you, because I know what it feels like not to have one,” Davis continued. “I couldn’t imagine leaving you in this world to figure it out on your own. I never knew why God put me through numerous obstacles but now I do. I believe it was for me to overcome them to prepare you to be more ready than I was when life doesn’t go your way.”
“I’m happy God has blessed you with so many people that love you, your Mom, Grandparents, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and friends, you’ll always know what love looks and feels like. I appreciate all of you for that. Love you, Monroe, and Happy Birthday,” his post concluded.
After 14 months into a three-year contract, Davis was released by the Jaguars earlier in May. His contract was worth $39 million.

Last season, the athlete caught “20 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games in 2024 before suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee and missing the remainder of the season,” per ESPN.
According to Jordan Raanan with ESPN, Davis could make a move back to New York. This time, though, he would potentially play for the Giants.
“Schedule release tonight. Get ready for an early taste of the NFC East for the Giants. Also, keep an eye on WR Gabe Davis today. Momentum building for a reunion with Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen in NY,” Raanan wrote on X.
However, a return to the Buffalo Bills, where he spent the first four years of his NFL career, is also possible. CBS Sports also speculated Davis could end up with the Philadelphia Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles.
But despite his uncertain future in the NFL, the wide receiver keeps his daughter, Monroe, his top priority.
