WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 12 is at an end, but the crew can’t help but drop some hints about what’s coming in Season 13.
“I am so excited that we got to launch them toward Cape Fullerton, to literally put them on new territory… ” writer and executive producer Joy Gregory said on the “Heart to Hearties” podcast of Elizabeth and Nathan. “They’re going to co-parent someone who has a chronic illness. And while we certainly aren’t going to dwell in the kind of peril that we brought to the end of our season, we do want to honor the reality of that and how it might change Elizabeth.”
She’s excited for all the changes fans get to see Elizabeth go through in the next season.
“There’s opportunities for real growth of her character through adversity, but also through, of course, love and sharing her burden with Nathan,” she said. “I’m excited to lean into watching their relationship mature together…through good times and challenges.”
The season will also dive into Allie’s experience growing up.
“We’re excited to bring Allie into young adulthood. [Actress Jaeda Lily Miller has] grown into such a talented actor who can handle anything we throw her way…Her bond with Jacob on screen, who plays Oliver, is really lovely and working so well,” Gregory said. “We’re excited to develop their friendship together.”
Season 12 of WHEN CALLS THE HEART ended with a cliff hanger. Little Jack, in desperate need of insulin, is sick, and Elizabeth leaves with him for Cape Fullerton in the middle of the night to get the help they need. Nathan and Allie decide to join them on their journey, and Nathan tells Elizabeth, “Where you go, I go.”
Upon the end of Season 12, Jaeda Lily Miller, who plays Allie, shared a photo with co-stars Erin Krakow, Kevin McGarry and Hyland Goodrich on Instagram.
“Family sticks together right? I hope you all have enjoyed watching season 12 almost as much as I enjoyed filming it! See u next year in Hope Valley 🤭” she said.
Fans in the comment section shared their excitement for the upcoming season. “Family stays together ❤️❤️ Great season Jaeda (understatement) Looking forward to 13!” one person said. Another user added, “Loved the ending!!! Family sticks together 🥰”
The Hallmark Channel previously confirmed the renewal of the show for Season 13, which is set to premier in 2026.
In an announcement on its website, the network said, “Good news, Hearties! WHEN CALLS THE HEART is set to return with season 13 in 2026. Check back soon for more information on production and a premiere date!”
