FULL HOUSE might be massively popular, but there’s one person who’s not familiar with the show — star Jodie Sweetin!
“We started this podcast because Andrea [Barber, her former FULL HOUSE co-star] and I never watched the show, so I’ve never seen all the episodes,” Sweetin told GOOD MORNING AMERICA. “It’s been so much fun to get to watch the show continuously.”
Speaking about the show’s legacy, she shared, “It really still resonates with people…and going back and watching those original episodes, I can understand why.”
“I think we did a really good job at trying to address things like child abuse and death and some more serious topics,” Sweetin added. “We focused it on the kids’ perspective.”
She continued, “I was always really proud of how FULL HOUSE handled those things.”
Those kinds of difficult topics are addressed in Sweetin’s latest project, a movie titled DATELESS TO DANGEROUS: MY SON’S SECRET LIFE. The Lifetime movie stars Sweetin as a concerned mother to a son whose increased internet use leads to some troubling behavior.
“When I read the script, I felt like it was a really important topic to touch on,” Sweetin shared. “I have daughters who are almost 15 and 17, and seeing the effect that social media [and] the internet…the effect that this has had on young people, it’s apparent and it’s terrifying.”

In an interview with PEOPLE, the actress discussed why she decided to take on a more dramatic role than her usual projects.
“What’s important to me at this point is to use my platform to do the most good that I can,” she said. “Career-wise, I think it’s about I want to help art get us through all of this because whether it’s comedy, whether it’s painting, whatever, the world is a lot right now. Being an artist, you feel like, ‘I want to bring stuff to life. I want to bring stories to life.’ And this is one of them that I felt really committed to making happen.”
Sweetin shared her desire to do more dramatic roles in an interview with Woman’s World, telling the outlet, “I would love to do more dramatic stuff. I am working on a few projects right now. They are a lot darker than what I have done before and a lot of fun to play. I love comedy and would love to do an ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT-type of show.”
While Sweetin might be best known for her more lighthearted roles, the actress is ready to explore different types of projects and show off her range as an actress.
