Anne Wilson thanked her fellow country singer Morgan Wallen for letting her open for him on his tour this summer — and giving her the opportunity to share the gospel with thousands.
“He’s my dream artist to open for,” Wilson told Crosswalk Headlines. “So that alone — but just getting to spread the gospel with a stadium full of people — I’m so excited, I cannot wait.”
Wilson will open for Wallen at four concerts this summer. Her first two performances will be at stadiums that seat over 60,000 people.
“I cannot wait to step into these spaces and point people towards Jesus!” Wilson said in a video on her Instagram earlier this year.
Wallen is one of the hottest names in country right now — with over 42 million Spotify listeners monthly. In May, he broke a record with 37 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Wilson’s music is primarily faith-based country. She’s rapidly rose to fame since 2021 when she debuted “My Jesus.”
“I love that I can have just a bigger audience to reach people for the gospel,” she said. “And I love that my songs have been played on country radio — it’s so cool to me. You know, I love just getting to spread the name of Jesus and the hope that He offers. So it’s been a really great journey for me.”
Wilson feels like she’s doing what she’s meant to do.

“I love the Christian community and I love getting to share Jesus with people. But I also feel called to take that message into the world outside of the Christian market,” she said. “So one of the ways that I feel very called is just by my songs being about the Lord and about His goodness and talking about Him, but the music sounding very country.”
Wilson has over 20 tour dates this year while working on a new album and single, “God Story.”
“We’re writing and finishing up this record, and I think it’s my favorite record I’ve ever written so far,” she said. “So I’m excited.”
“God Story” just came out on June 20. Wilson wrote it while reflecting on how God “carried” her and changed her life.
“We’ve all had those moments. He’s so faithful to lead us every step of the way,” she said.
She told Spirit 105.3 that her “God Story” was losing her older brother, Jacob. She was extremely depressed, but she still got up and sang at his funeral. God used her loss to make her a great singer who shares the gospel.
“Now I can look back and see that he was with me through all of it,” Wilson said.
Her tour with Wallen starts July 25 in Seattle, Washington.
