Sadie Robertson Huff spoke at the Forward Conference last weekend, proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the answer to anxiety, depression and all of life’s problems.

“I think there’s something too when a human looks at another human and they go, ‘I look like you, I walk like you, I talk like you, but I have no idea how you could be so bold,'” Robertson Huff began.

“‘I have no idea how you could be so free. I have no idea how you could have joy right now. I have no idea how you could have peace right now, because I’m walking through life like you’re walking through life. I have a 24/7 like you have a 24/7, and I feel anxious and I feel depressed and I feel like I don’t amount to anything and I feel insecure. How do you feel so bold, how do you get so brave, how do you have so much confidence?’ Then you say, ‘I’ll tell you how. His name is Jesus. And not only did He do it for me, but He can do it for you.'”

Huff went on to challenge listeners to be bold for Christ and understand that in trials, good can still come.

“No matter what happens in your life, you don’t get to decide am I still going to be a Christian or am I not? Am I going to be a Christian in this setting, or am I just going to kind of shy away from it? Am I going to show my faith on Instagram, or am I just going to kind of keep that part of my life private?” she said.

“If you’re a believer in God, no matter what room He walks you in[to] or what situations or circumstances change in your life, Jesus Christ said, ‘You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. You don’t light a lamp and then put it under a stand. You put it on top of the stand so that it gives light to the whole house and so that people will see your good deeds and glorify the Father in heaven,'” Huff added, quoting Matthew 5:14-16.

“So you don’t make a decision to follow Christ and get all lit up in here and the Spirit’s on fire and then go out and hide that,” she continued. “No, you go out and you show that. You go out and you be that in every single scenario that you walk in.”

She emphasized, “So if you’re afraid of how dark the world is getting, you need to ask yourself, ‘Jesus, if you’re the light of the world, and you called me to be a light of the world, help me do that. Fill me, Lord, with your spirit so that I can do that.'”

Huff certainly lives this calling out as she boldly proclaims her faith and the freedom found in Christ through her social media, podcast, speaking events and her family’s new reality TV show DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL.

Huff celebrated her 28th birthday last month and reflected on 28 things she’s learned through her life.

“One thing I’ve learned through it all is that God is more kind, more compassionate, more intentional, and more loving than I ever thought He could be. I’m grateful for this journey of life and each day that’s been given!” she posted.

Like Huff, we can take encouragement in knowing that God wants His followers to be lights in this world, giving us the courage to live boldly for Him.
