Lauren Daigle will perform at this year’s U.S. Capitol celebration on the West Lawn.
Alfonso Ribeiro will return to host the event, which will feature many musicians, the National Symphony Orchestra and fireworks.
Aside from Daigle, other performers include The Beach Boys, The Temptations, Josh Turner, Trombone Shorty, LOCASH, Yolanda Adams and Abi Everly, the Christian Beat reported.
“I’m honored to be back hosting the 45th anniversary of A CAPITOL FOURTH,” said Alfonso Ribeiro. “It’s everything you want in an Independence Day celebration – great music and fantastic fireworks. For me, the best part is always the crowd: so many happy, patriotic faces, from grandparents to little kids. You don’t want to miss this party!”
“I love the tradition now for me and my family. The whole family comes with me and we all go to D.C. and get to enjoy this holiday together,” Ribeiro told KSNT News.
The event will also include a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps, a celebration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and more events.
“We’re really leaning into it this year and we’re really gonna have some fun with them and really make them feel special about what they do for all of us,” Riberio said.
“Two-time Grammy®, seven-time Billboard Music Award, four-time American Music Award, and ten-time GMA Dove Music Award winner @lauren_daigle will join the A Capitol Fourth lineup,” PBS shared on social media. “Tune in to A Capitol Fourth on Friday, July 4 at 8/7c on @pbs to watch this Louisiana native bring her unique style to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.”
This year is the 45th anniversary of the great fourth of July event. This year, the event is sponsored by Boeing. In World War II, Boeing hired many women to help build machinery to support the war effort.

PBS interviewed one of those women, Mae Krier. She said, “We weren’t doing it for honors or rewards. We were doing it to save our country. We all had our boys or brothers or uncles or somebody out there fighting in the Pacific or over in Europe, and we knew they needed the equipment and that was so important.”
She mentioned the Gold Star Mothers, who were mothers that lost a son and worked on machinery.
“They said, ‘I don’t want another mother to lose a son because he doesn’t have the equipment he needs,” she said, adding that many widows did the same.
The event will go live on PBS, YouTube and the American Forces Network from 8 to 9:30 p.m. CDT. It will be available on Video on Demand from July 4 to July 18.
