Great American Family’s COUNTY RESCUE star Julia Reilly will help kick off America’s 250th birthday with America Reads the Bible this year.
“I am honored and so excited to be a reader at America Reads the Bible this April in Washington, D.C.,” Reilly began an Instagram video. “It’s going to be a historic event and so special. We’re celebrating America’s 250th birthday and reading the entire book of the Bible out loud in one week.”
GAF star Candace Cameron Bure will serve as the National Spokesperson alongside Cameron and BJ Arnett.

Great American Pure Flix wrote in the post’s caption, “This Saturday kicks off America Reads the Bible with the Opening Celebration! This weeklong event will be spent reading the Bible from cover to cover. 🙌We can’t wait for you all to join us in this powerful experience, you can attend in person or you can watch for FREE live on Great American Pure Flix!”
The event’s description reads, “This initiative invites Americans from every background to return to the spiritual foundation that has shaped our country — the Word of God. Over the course of one week, leaders and everyday citizens alike will participate in a public reading of the entire Bible, bringing together voices from government, education, business, the arts, and the Church. In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States, America Reads the Bible serves as a spiritual celebration of our nation’s founding ideals and a call to rediscover the truth that still anchors us today.”
Other notable figures who will read at the event are Patricia Heaton, Franklin Graham, Sec. Mike Pompeo, Sec. Pete Hegseth, Sen. Ted Cruz, Sec. Brooke Rollins, Dallas Jenkins, James Ward, Sammy Rodriguez, Hon. Michele Bachmann, Dr. Alveda King, Allen Jackson, Amb. Sam Brownback, Sheila Walsh, Nick Vujicic, Lisa Bevere and Eric Metaxas, according to the event’s website.
Bure also shared about the event: “We are doing something so special…People from all across the country are coming together to spend time in God’s word, praise the Lord, and you can join us. Attend in person at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. or stream from the comfort of your own home or your church.”
It runs from April 19 through April 25.
Along with the Bible event, Reilly is preparing for a new season of COUNTY RESCUE, which will come out on May 14 on Pure Flix and May 17 on Great American Family and GFam+.
