HGTV has made some major changes; the network just canceled six shows. Here’s everything we know about who got the axe.
“Since June 22, the channel has canceled the hosts of six different home renovation and real estate programs,” PEOPLE reported, adding, “While none of the stars shared specific reasons for their departures, some online exchanges hinted that not all of the cancellations were entirely amicable.”
For example, BARGAIN BLOCK has been canceled after four seasons.
“The last six months have been a pretty wild journey. Our entire business and lives have been put through the ringer at the hands of a giant corporation, yet we persist lol,” designer Keith Bynum posted on Instagram. “Everyone always told us TV is a fickle world and they are very right. TV is full of a lot of great people but it’s also full of some of the worst people I’ve ever encountered. Evan [Thomas, Bynum’s co-star] and I have always tried hard to stick to what we know and what we’re good at which is being ourselves.”
Bynum promised fans they will see more of the BARGAIN BLOCK team, writing, “We’re very excited about the future.”
MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE’s Egypt Sherrod and husband Mike Jackson made similar comments, calling their show’s cancellation “disheartening.”
However, they put a positive spin on the end of MARRIED TO REAL ESTATE, writing, “Not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise. We’ve been here before. We’ll keep counting those blessings — and keep it moving.”

Jonathan Knight, former New Kids On The Block member and star of FARMHOUSE FIXER, announced earlier this year that HGTV “has decided not to move forward with another season.”
“While I’m still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina [Crestin, co-host and designer] and I are so grateful for all your support over the past 3 seasons,” he concluded.
Newcomer IZZY DOES IT got cut from HGTV’s schedule after just one season, with star Israel “Izzy” Battres saying, via Instagram, he is “leaving this experience full of gratitude.”
CHRISTINA ON THE COAST and THE FLIPPING EL MOUSSAS have also been canceled, but the stars have not yet commented publicly on the end of their shows.
HGTV hasn’t gotten rid of everything, though. RENOVATION RESORT SHOWDOWN, LOVE IT OR LIST IT, MY LOTTERY DREAM HOUSE, SCARIEST HOUSE IN AMERICA and SIN CITY REHAB have all been renewed.
100 DAY DREAM HOME, HOME TOWN, FIXER TO FABULOUS and HELP! I WRECKED MY HOUSE are also expected to return.
It’s unclear why HGTV axed so many shows, including long-time favorites. While fans are disappointed not to see some stars return, they’re looking forward to what the network will offer in the coming months.
