While the Holy Spirit does not always receive the same recognition of God the Father and Jesus the Son, Priscilla Shirer reminds us that He is just as powerful as the other two members of the trinity.
“The Holy Spirit is not a ghost, or a wind, or a fire, or a dove. He is often symbolized by those things, but don’t minimize Him, that ain’t who He is,” Shirer told the TBN audience. “The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity – not third because He is least in value, just third because He’s the last to be revealed to us in the pages of scripture.”
“But all of the power, all of the glory, all of the authority, all the grandeur of God the Father is in the person of the Holy Spirit. Which means, if you are a believer and the Holy Spirit lives in you, that means that all the authority of God Himself now lives in you,” she continued.

Shirer is a renowned speaker, teacher, writer, and actress. She’s appeared in many faith-focused movies, including I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, WAR ROOM and OVERCOMER.
Shirer often uses her platform to remind her fans of Biblical truths that can often go overlooked. For example, she previously taught about the scope that God has in comparison to ours, and how He sees things on a generational scale when we can struggle to think about how something we are asking for will impact us next week.
“If we limit God to what we can think and what we see…we have not even considered the categories of opportunity that this divine holy almighty being has accessible to Him,” Shirer said.
“He’s not just thinking about you. He’s thinking about your children and your grandchildren and your great-grandchildren and those that are to come and how His kingdom’s purposes are going to be outworked in this generation,” she continued.
In the end, her teachings almost always return to prayer and the power that it holds. When we speak directly to God and believe that He is listening, powerful things can happen that can result in miracles. Shirer always works to remind her fans of this and to never lose hope in the power of prayer.
“The word of God is the sword of the Spirit,” she said during an appearance on TBN’s PRAISE. “One of the things I walked away with from [WAR ROOM]…it occurred to me that, while I did value prayer, I had neglected intentionality with prayer.”
Shirer is absolutely right that the Lord has the power to make incredible change in our life when we ask Him to. Furthermore, when we trust that He uses all things for good, it allows us to keep a healthy perspective whether it feels like the Lord is answering our prayers or not.
