#CancelNetflix went viral last week — for good reason.
After clips of pro LGBTQ Netflix shows targeted at kids exploded across social media, the streaming giant saw its shares drop 2.4% — about the equivalent of more than $15 billion — in just days, Newsmax reported.
“Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids,” Elon Musk posted on X accompanied by a meme of the Netflix as the Trojan Horse bringing “transgender woke agenda” to kids.
Several clips from various Netflix kids’ shows highlighted the streamer’s transgender push.
Libs of TikTok shared one clip from Netflix’s TV movie STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE AND THE BEAST OF BERRY BOG. In the scene, a male character twirls into a dress and pearl necklace, saying it’s part of his “self-expression.”
“It’s me,” he says of the look.

Netflix’s STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: BERRY IN THE BIG CITY sees Strawberry Shortcake and a friend gush over a baby blue, pink and white ball gown — colors found on the transgender flag.
Moments later, a character wearing that dress on a runway says, “As a trans berry, I love living out loud as my most authentic self, and I wanted to dress as bold and unique as I am, which, let’s face it, is a tall order.”
Both STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE AND THE BEAST OF BERRY BOG and BERRY IN THE BIG CITY are still available to stream on Netflix.
Breitbart reported that subscribers began digging into Netflix’s trans-affirming kids content after Hamish Steele, a cartoon creator at Netflix, “smeared” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk after his assassination.
Steele’s DEAD END: PARANORMAL PARK, targeted at kids ages 7 and up, features a transgender storyline.
A snippet from the show sees a trans character say that it’s “important” to “live your life without apology.”
“This is not appropriate for 7 year olds…but apparently Netflix thinks it is. Be careful and pay attention to what your children are watching,” internet personality Jeffery Mead said in reaction to the clip.
Thankfully, DEAD END: PARANORMAL PARK was cancelled in 2023 after two seasons.
Other commentators have chimed in on Netflix’s agenda push.
“The real reason the Netflix cancellation campaign has gone so viral: Netflix is sexualizing children by packaging explicit, graphic, radical sex topics as ‘children’s entertainment,’” conservative commentator Benny Johnson posted on X.
Internet personality Ian Miles Cheong reminded his followers that COCOMELON LANE, a COCOMELON spinoff on Netflix, “features interracial gay dads attempting to raise a baby as transgender who make the toddler dance for them in drag.”
Movieguide® reported after that COCOMELON LANE episode came out in 2023 that “Parents should take caution and monitor the content if they allow their children to watch newer COCOMELON content.”
As always, parents need to be vigilant about the kind of content their children consume, and giving your kids a biblical foundation will help them discern if what they’re watching is problematic. Movieguide® publisher Dr. Ted Baehr writes:
Children need to be taught the fundamentals of Christian faith so that they can apply their beliefs and moral values to the culture and to the mass media of entertainment. Of course, parents typically have an easier time than teachers with this Key because they can freely discuss their personal beliefs.
Unfortunately, it seems that pro LGBTQ shows and movies targeted at the most vulnerable minds are easily available on Netflix, so use caution when it comes to your kids’ time on the streamer.
