Phil Wickham is in awe of the worship taking place in countries where Christians are being persecuted.

In a recent post to Instagram, the Christian singer and songwriter shared a breathtaking video of a choir in Nigeria performing his song “Living Hope.”

“This is wild y’all! They sound so good! So amazing to see how these songs have such an impact across the world. 🙏🏼” Wickham wrote in the caption.

The beautiful performance by the Queen of Peace Youth Choir in Enugu, Nigeria, amazed people in the comment section as well.

“They are in Nigeria where Christians are being persecuted. This knowledge makes it even more beautiful and awe inspiring than it already is. 🙏🏼” one person commented. Another person added, “Praying for the persecuted church in Nigeria. 🙏🙏 this is such a beautiful arrangement of Loving Hope! So healing!❤️”

Nigerian Christians face heavy persecution, and United States lawmakers are attempting to hold the extremist groups inflicting the persecution accountable.

Just last month, Senator Ted Cruz introduced the Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act of 2025. In a statement about the new legislation, he said, “Nigerian Christians are being targeted and executed for their faith by Islamist terrorist groups and are being forced to submit to sharia law and blasphemy laws across Nigeria.”

He added, “It is long past time to impose real costs on the Nigerian officials who facilitate these activities, and my Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act uses new and existing tools to do exactly that. I urge my colleagues to advance this critical legislation expeditiously.”

The law aims to hold “accountable Nigerian officials who facilitate Islamist jihadist violence and the imposition of blasphemy laws.”

Wickham is passionate about people praising the Lord all over the world. To help accomplish this, he recently announced his “Song of the Saints” tour which launches this spring.

“With the release of my new album, Song Of The Saints, I couldn’t wait to get dates on the calendar to sing these songs with the church. I feel a stronger stirring than I ever have before that we need to gather and raise the banner of Jesus high,” he said in a press release.

He added, “There is a darkness-shaking, soul-waking, heaven-moving power in our collective song of faith.”

Whether in America, Nigeria or anywhere else in the world, people choose to risk it all and worship Jesus no matter the consequences.
