On Oct. 2, the Peanuts celebrated their 75th anniversary.

“Today marks the official 75th anniversary of Peanuts! On October 2, 1950, the first Peanuts comic strip, shown here, was published in seven newspapers nationwide. Charles M. Schulz was 27 years old,” the Peanuts social media account shared. “Peanuts would go on to appear in over 2,600 newspapers across the world, with book collections translated into dozens of languages. For 75 years, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the Peanuts gang have brought joy, laughter, and comfort to countless readers worldwide.

“We don’t live in a very secure world, and we need help from one another in countless ways. None of us knows how long we are going to live or under what circumstances, but being able to laugh at this condition is a blessing…Cartooning is hard work sometimes, but at least one has the satisfaction of knowing he has made others laugh,” Schulz said previously, per the post.

Everything Charlie Brown and Peanuts will remain on Apple TV until 2030.
