As spiritual revivals take place in different communities across the country, Luke Smallbone reminded his fans that revival is for everyone.
“I think a lot of times when people talk about the word ‘revival,’ I think that they think about it, like, for everyone else,” Smallbone said. “And it’s always about, like, ‘Well, it’s for young people. It’s for this.’ No, no, no, no. Start with yourself.”
“If you can take revival into your marriage, it impacts your spouse. If you can take revival into your marriage, then it impacts your family; it impacts your household,” he continued. “If your revival is taking place in your household, it will impact your town. If revival takes place in your town, it will impact the city. If revival takes place in a city, it will impact the state.”

Smallbone’s comments come as America has experienced a significant interest in faith in recent years. In 2023, Asbury College experienced a spontaneous revival which drew thousands of college aged kids to the campus to partake in passionate worship for the Lord. This earnest outpouring of faith spread to other campuses around the nation as well, as many people in the younger generation felt their hearts being tugged by the Lord.
“Revival is still going on. That chapel behind me is still filled. It’s been almost two weeks now, and I think that is amazing,” filmmaker Alex Kendrick said after visiting a revival at Lee University. “My family and I have come up here for a couple of days and just joined in on what God’s doing. It’s incredible. And I’m so very, very grateful. So what’s going on at Asbury, Lee University, Samford University, Cedarville in Ohio, there’s a number of colleges that are now seeking the Lord.”
Since then, more and more people have become outspoken about their faith, especially on college campuses, as many Christian athletes use their platforms to glorify the Lord, rather than bask in their own vanity. Last year, for example, the National Championship winning Ohio State football team was full of Christians who glorified the Lord every step of the way onto their victory.
“We hear a lot of times people talk about their faith, and people sort of dismiss it,” ESPN’s Scott Davis said. “These guys were sharing their faith and reaching out and baptizing guys on campus — not just football teammates. And it became something powerful to them, not because they thought it was going to be handed to them to win a game, but it developed, it changed their relationships, and it changed selfishness and made it go away. It was impactful for them. It didn’t mean they were going to guarantee they were going to win.”
However, revival is not only reaching the younger generation but is touching people of all ages, especially through a new outpouring of high-quality Christian media. Sixty percent of Americans now consider themselves viewers of Christian media, and over half of the country engages with Christian content at least once per week.
It truly is amazing how the Lord is moving in our country. Those who want to experience revival for themselves should heed Smallbone’s advice and commit themselves to the Lord and His work, rather than allowing the opportunity to pass them by because they do not feel they are part of the movement.
