Reba McEntire and her HAPPY’S PLACE co-star, Belissa Escobedo, told Movieguide® all about the comedy show’s new season.

“I think what makes it so special is that we are so diverse and we come together with all of our silly things,” McEntire told Movieguide® in October. “We’re bringing from our past, our history, our knowledge, and we share.”

“And when somebody’s having a problem, we help,” she continued. “And it might be a fiasco getting there, but in the end it turns out really, really sweet and loving.”

The new season’s first-look trailer teases Bobbie worrying over asking her love interest, Emmett, out, but she has her much younger half-sister, Isabella, there to encourage her.

The country legend explained that her character, Bobbie, gets closer to Isabella in Season 2.

“Even though Isabella is always trying to find new things and to put Bobbie out of her comfort zone,” she said. “And then Bobbie has to suck it up and say, okay, I’ll let her do it. And then she learns from it.”

Escobado has picked up on some country slang while working with McEntire. One of her favorite phrases of hers is “shoot fire,” which Escobado hilariously misunderstood as “shoot far” due to McEntire’s thick country accent.

“I’m not sure what it means, but I’ve heard her say it a few times,” Escobedo laughed.

Escobedo has also shared some of her Gen Z lingo with McEntire.

“I told her about piping hot tea. What tea means…And she made it beans,” she explained.

“Country, you know, beans. Spill the beans,” McEntire said.

Escobedo hopes that viewers fall in love with the characters and their quirks in Season 2.

“Our writers are so good, and they come up with great storylines that have heart, emotion, funny predicaments, situations,” McEntire told Movieguide®. “You don’t know how in the world we’re gonna get out of it, but it all works out.”

HAPPY’S PLACE star Pablo Castleblanco recently told NBC, “This is gonna be a better season just because the characters know each other, we’re going to go deeper into them. We’re going to have the most fun.”

“I think having a break and then being able to come back to the writing and just feel immediately back in with the characters and the dynamics, felt like we never left,” Escobedo said.

The new season will also feature guest stars Christopher Lloyd, Carol Kane and Cheri Oteri. It premieres this Friday, Nov. 7 at 8/7c on NBC.
