Jen Lilley revealed that the “perfect” casting and great bonding with fellow castmates made A LITTLE WOMEN’S CHRISTMAS a special movie for her.
“I was so excited to be part of this movie…and I play Meg, who’s actually my favorite character in the book,” Lilley told Movieguide®.
The movie is a modern retelling of the Louisa May Alcott’s novel Little Women about four sisters: Jo, Beth, Amy and Meg — the oldest of the sisters.
“[Meg’s]…a military wife and also a mom, and she’s not sure if her husband’s going to make it home from the holidays” Lilley said of her character in the movie. “And that really struck a chord with me.”
THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES star continued, “I just really love our military and our veterans, and so that was a role that I wanted to make sure I pulled off well and did with justice.”

Lilley praised her cast mates, like Jillian Murray (Jo March), with whom she forged friendships that spilled over to the movie.
“[O]ur on set experience was so just spot on. I mean, every single actor that was cast was perfectly suited to…their role,” the Virginia native said. “You know, on set it was, there was just so much camaraderie…but it was really brilliant and wonderful to watch.”
The 41-year-old drew on her own experience growing up with three siblings, although she had one sister and two brothers, for the character of Meg.
“[A]nyone that does have siblings, as much as you’re close with your siblings, and nobody could ever say anything about your siblings without you stepping in and defending them,” she said. “You also love to get at each other. There’s a lot of, like teasing, lot of moments like that.”
The Great American Family movie is not the only Christmas movie that the singer/actress stars, in just in case you don’t have enough “Jen Lilley in your stocking.”
The mom of four starred in OPERATION MISTLETOE with Nick Bateman and a PARIS CHRISTMAS WALTZ with Matthew Morrison.
The latest Christmas offering Lilley starred in was the mystery/romance movie CHRISMYSTERY.
“After the death of her husband, Annie Willows (Lilley) returns to her hometown to become deputy sheriff. Though determined not to stay, a mysterious crime and the town’s warmth draw her back to what really matters — family, love and the spirit of Christmas,” one summary read.
She’s also set to play Gloria Stewart, wife of legendary Jimmy Stewart, in the biopic JIMMY.
The star was overwhelmed with emotion during a table read over Zoom with KJ Apa who plays the titular character.
“There were several moments where, because my camera was off, I just freely let myself cry tears of gratitude and awe that I got to be part of it because it felt like I was in a table read with James Stewart. It was surreal” she admitted.
Will JIMMY, scheduled for release November 2026, be an Oscar contender?
Lilley, who was in the Oscar winner THE ARTIST, thinks so.
“I laughed, I cried — this movie gives you all the feels,” she said of reading the script.
