Get ready for new family-friendly content! A major Hollywood player just confirmed their intent to launch a family-friendly production company.
“We have confirmed that former Paramount co-CEO Brian Robbins is launching a new family production company dedicated to animated and live-action fare,” Deadline reported, adding that CAA, Sony and “a handful of financiers” are putting up the $100 million needed to fund the endeavor.
Deadline shared that Robbins will “shepherd content for YouTube and shortform platforms with an eye to evolve them into feature film IP which Sony will release theatrically.”
This method is intended to help the studio find content with big-screen potential by analyzing the streaming data.

It’s not surprising investors are ready to back a studio focused on family-friendly productions. Angel Studios recently made the Top 10 list of highest-grossing distributors in 2025, based on the success of movies like THE KING OF KINGS, DAVID and THE LAST RODEO.
“The $161.8 million in total gross for its 2025 movies topped Amazon MGM Studios ($123.5 million) and trailed ninth-place Focus Features ($212.7 million), according to data compiled by The Numbers,” Crosswalk reported. “Disney ($1.9 billion), Warner Bros. ($1.8 billion), and Universal ($1.5 billion) topped the chart.”
Robbins, who has a proven track record of turning children’s shows like TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES and PAW PATROL into successful movies, stepped down from Paramount last year following Skydance’s purchase of the studio.
“This moment of transition is, of course, bittersweet. But I step away with deep pride in what we’ve built together, and with great confidence in the road ahead,” Robbins wrote in a memo to staff. “The company is in exceptionally capable hands with David Ellison and the incoming team from Skydance, and I know you’ll continue to thrive and excel with your collective talents.”
He continued, “As I reflect on our time together, we’ve jointly experienced an incredible amount of change and transformation. Through global disruptions, shifting audience behaviors, and major industry evolution, your perseverance and creativity never wavered. You stayed focused, resilient, and committed to our shared mission: telling great stories that captivate audiences.”
Robbins’ new production company is still in its early stages, but audiences everywhere are ready for more family-friendly movies!
