BOSTON BLUE will get another BLUE BLOODS crossover by bringing in Henry “Pop” Reagan, played by Len Cariou.

A recent trailer teased Cariou’s appearance in a scene with Donny Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan, Boston District Attorney Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) and Detective Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green), TV Line reported this week.

Cariou will appear in episode 13, which airs in April, and episode 17, which airs in May. BLUE BLOODS’ Erin Reagan, played by Bridget Moynahan, will also return for episode 17.

Wahlberg confirmed Cariou’s appearance back in January, The New York Post reported.

The show has been on a hiatus since December but comes back with new episodes on Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. ET.

The last episode left fans with a serious cliffhanger that made it unclear whether Jonah Silver killed Ronan Flaherty.

The plot episode for episode 10, “Hard Truths,” reads, “Following the release of Ben’s killer from prison, Jonah continues to struggle with anger and grief confronting the killer and putting family bonds to the test, and Mae and Sarah face painful truths that could change everything. Meanwhile, Danny and Lena take on a high-stakes case that uncovers deep-rooted secrets and forces unlikely alliances.”

The show’s co-creator Brandon Sonnier said the next episode will “come back to the moment where we leave off…Jonah is standing there covered in blood, Danny is asking for a BPD badge, Lena is wondering what the hell happened, and Sean is in the mix.” The episode will be “very emotional” as it “offers closure to this chapter of the Silvers’ lives, but it also opens up new paths, new relationships, and new directions moving forward.”

CBS has already renewed BOSTON BLUE for another season, so fans can likely expect another cliffhanger when Season 1 ends.

BLUE BLOODS fans would love to see Tom Selleck back in his role as Frank Reagan for another crossover. However, the actor doesn’t think it is in his future.

“I don’t know if I would do BOSTON BLUE — that’s another show,” Selleck previously told Hour Detroit. “I think it’s partly my lot in life to make sure BLUE BLOODS has its place in television history, but I don’t think it’s my lot in life to keep playing Frank Reagan.”

BOSTON BLUE Episode 1.8 “In the Name of the Father, and of the Son. . .” has been nominated for a Best Mature Audience Television/Streaming Movieguide® Award this year. To see whether it will win, tune into Great American Family on March 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
