BOSTON BLUE will reunite BLUE BLOODS’ detective Maria Baez and Danny Reagan in Season 1 Episode 6.
Baez is played by Marisa Ramirez and Reagan is played by Donnie Wahlberg.
It’s the first time that the characters, a romantic couple, are working on a case again since they starred together in BLUE BLOODS, TV Insider reported Nov. 4.
The series sees Danny join the Boston Police after his son Sean moved there. Baez briefly appeared in Episode 3, when she visited Danny from New York.
Episode 6 is called “Code of Ethics.” Its description reads, “With an assist from NYPD’s Maria Baez, Danny and Lena hunt down a serial home invader. Sean’s budding romance faces unexpected complications. Meanwhile, Mae [Gloria Reuben] and Sarah [Maggie Lawson] uncover a troubling leak that could upend the justice system.”

Ramirez recently told Us that she loves her opportunity to work on BOSTON BLUE after starring in BLUE BLOODS.
“The show could have just kind of walked away and said, ‘Oh, you know, Baez and Danny broke up. Big deal. Let’s move on,’” she said.
But the fact that they brought her character back was “really, really sweet and generous and such a treat for all of the BLUE BLOODS fans that were kind of all left hanging with their relationship.”
Baez and Danny have a long-distance relationship, so their future is unknown. But Ramirez says she could see Baez and her daughter, Elena, moving to Boston without issue.
“To me, it’s not that fun to watch such a happy couple. It’s fun when there’s ups and downs and arguments and kind of getting back together,” she explained. “It’s more fun to watch kind of turmoil in relationships, because it makes it that much sweeter when it works out and they get together.”
She does hint there is a little bit of tension in their relationship due to the long-distance setup.
She told fans, “I just think that you’re honestly just gonna have to watch,” she said. “But still be worried about the long-distance thing working out or not working out.”
Wahlberg recently hinted that more BLUE BLOODS characters will make appearances in BOSTON BLUE.
“There were zero [BLUE BLOODS] castmates originally in the [BOSTON BLUE] pilot; now they’re creeping in, and they’ll be coming back,” Wahlberg told Deadline.
He said, “This could lead to another BLUE BLOODS-universe show and you know, my dream is, in success, we do a movie all together. We get BLUE BLOODS and BOSTON BLUE together and do a feature film. But yes, we want to incorporate [both] worlds as much as possible.”
His episode with Ramirez comes out Friday, Nov. 21, on CBS at 10 p.m. ET.
