‘Privilege and an Honor’: CHOSEN Cast and Crew Talk Show’s Faith-Filled Message

THE CHOSEN’s cast and crew recently shared what the show’s success with viewers has meant for them — and what it can teach other aspiring storytellers.

“It’s certainly a privilege and an honor to be telling the story on a global platform,” Paras Patel, who plays Matthew, told Movieguide®. “But what’s more important is how the world has caught on to our hearts, because we believed in this show from the beginning when it was a web series, and to see it now branch out to what it has and we’re changing people’s lives — we’re making a good impact, and we’re going to continue to do that.”

Producer Chris Juen then shared a message for anyone hoping to make their own uplifting story of faith.

“We did not know there was going to be a fifth episode of Season 1. We started off, we had four episodes,” he said. “And so the whole thing is that if you’ve got a story, go tell it, because you don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Juen added, “You don’t end up this big. You start off small, but the heart was always there.”

THE CHOSEN’s creator, Dallas Jenkins, recently teased fans about what’s to come in Season 6.

“This is the moment when we’re going all in,” he said during a livestream. “All the five seasons previously have led to this, to Seasons 6 and 7.”

Jenkins continued, “The theme of Season 6 in many ways is how devastated and confused the followers of Jesus were, but they still had to trust and they still had to have faith.”

“I also can promise you that this season is not just heavy,” he concluded. “It’s also got joy. It’s also got beauty … it’s not just going to be a full season of just pain and misery.”

In an interview with Deseret News, THE CHOSEN’s cast spoke about the production of Season 6.

“I was really taken by the way that they led us to the crucifixion and the way that they depicted that — I just think people are in for a really invigorating season,” Noah James, who plays Andrew, shared. “It’s going to be brutal, but it will be surprising. And I think at the end of the day, it could be some people’s favorite season.”

Season 6 of the series will be partially released in 2026, with the season finale set to debut in 2027.
