Teddy Bear Award® winner Candace Cameron Bure will executive produce a new Christmas movie that stars Jill Wagner and Cameron Mathison.

The movie, AN ACCIDENTAL ARCTIC CHRISTMAS, stars a single dad and his college-aged daughter. When they accidently end up in the arctic on their Christmas vacation, they have to rely on a wildlife conservationist for help. It’s not the Christmas they expected, but it might be just as magical, according to PR Newswire.

“This year’s Great American Christmas represents a maturation of our business and the highest level of talent and storytelling we have ever brought to the screen. From beloved stars to richly layered stories, every film reflects our commitment to creative excellence. Our success as a business in the five years since launch has allowed us to reinvest in content that will yield our most compelling and complete Christmas slate to date and will be a true celebration of the reason for the season,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media.

Other movies in the 2026 Christmas lineup are HOME SWEET ANNIVERSARY, which stars Bure and Mathison, and ONE MORE CHRISTMAS, which stars Bure and Jonathan Scarfe.

AN ACCIDENTAL ARCTIC CHRISTMAS is currently filming in Canada. Jeffery Brooks, Ford Englerth, Tim Owens, Eric Jarboe, Holly A. Hines and Robin Dunn will also executive produce the project.

On Great American Family’s announcement post for the movie, GAF actor Jesse Hutch commented, “Excellent. 2 amazing human beings. They will crush this film into awesomeness. Yes. I said awesomeness. 🙌🎬😊”

Bure commented, “We can’t wait!! 👏👏”

Fans also jumped into the comments: “This is great news!” one wrote. “I love the last movie Jill and Cameron did together! I’m looking forward to it!”

In Mathison’s Instagram story Wednesday, he shared a clip from filming to the tune of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” He sat in winter clothes inside a car while a camera poked through his side window.

Christa Lowry, the mayor of Mississippi Mills in Ontario, Canada, shared a picturesque location of where the movie will be filmed.

She said alongside a photo on March 30, “This historic corner of Queen Street in Almonte (pictured here from years ago!) is about to get another close-up. AN ACCIDENTAL ARCTIC CHRISTMAS is filming in Almonte starting tomorrow! Yes, another Christmas movie.”

She added, “Mississippi Mills, you’re such a star! 🤩✨ No road closures expected, just some modern movie magic happening in our historic heart at @themontelounge.”

The movie will come out sometime this winter.
