Celene Dion hasn’t let her diagnosis stop her — she has a new single out Friday.
It’s been four years since Dion was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, and it’s been three since fans have heard any new music.
Her new single is called “Dansons,” French for “let’s dance.” Dion will also tour again and has 16 concerts in Paris scheduled for the fall, GOOD MORNING AMERICA reported.
“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life…I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September!” Dion announced in a press release.
“I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I’m grateful to all of YOU! I love you all and I’ll see you soon!” she wrote.

Dion’s rigidity in her muscles led her to experience difficulty standing, walking and singing.
The mom of three lost her husband to throat cancer in 2016.
“I barely could walk at one point, and I was missing very much living. My kids started to notice. I was like, ‘OK, they already lost a parent. I don’t want them to be scared,’” she recalled of her symptoms before diagnosis.
“I let them know, ‘You lost your dad, [but] mom has a condition, and it’s different. I’m not going to die. It’s something that I’m going to learn to live with,’” she said.
In 2022, she had to cancel concerts due to her condition.
“I’m heartbroken by this,” Dion said in a statement at the time. “My team and I have been working on our new show for the past eight months, and to not be able to open this November saddens me beyond words.”
She said a few months later, “I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing. There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road.”
In her announcement of her tour on March 30, Dion shared that she’s feeling better and excited to take the stage again.
“I want to let you know that I’m doing great,” she told her fans. “I’m managing my health, feeling good, singing again, dancing, obviously. I love it so much.”
“Over these last few years, every day that’s come by I’ve felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love,” she continued. “Even in my most difficult times, you were there for me. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe and I’m truly so fortunate to have your support.”
Dion’s tour kicks off on Sept. 12. The last date she will sing in Paris is Oct. 17.
