On April 15, rumors spread that Savannah Guthrie left TODAY in the middle of the show.
In a clip shared on social media, Guthrie appeared to introduce the MOTHER MARY star Anne Hathaway before TODAY went to commercial,” Parade reported. After the commercial, Guthrie’s co-anchor Hoda Kotb did the interview. Then Guthrie returned to set shortly after.
To add to the confusion, in TODY’s official YouTube video the show, she isn’t there at all.
“Definitely strange, and odd to return for the last minute, unless just trying to not let on to anyone,” one person wrote on X.

“That’s strange! Maybe she got a call and was going to leave after the last set?” someone else said.
Others said it was probably just a part of normal show-business.
A source said that producers are to tell Guthrie that if there is an update on her missing mom, they are to say she is “needed off set.”
“We would pull her immediately, mid-segment if we had to,” the source said. “She knows if one of the producers tells her she’s ‘needed off set’ that there’s a development. She would understand that there was news about her mom and we’d take her into an office and tell her, at the same time that another anchor would report it as a breaking story.”
USA Today reported Friday that there is no new evidence or updates that relate to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. On Thursday, sources close to the investigation said that new FBI tech will be used to conduct advanced analysis on DNA found in Nancy’s home, which she is believed to be abducted from.
“This is not new information,” the Pima County sheriff’s department wrote on X on Thursday. “The private lab we utilize in Florida continues to share information with the FBI lab & other partner labs across the country. DNA analysis remains ongoing.”
As of today, April 20, it has been 79 days since Nancy disappeared. The Guthrie family has offered a $1 million reward for Nancy’s recovery, Fox 10 Phoenix reported. There is an active tipline via the FBI and the Pima County Sherrif’s office and an online form for tips.
There is brief doorbell camera footage of the suspect, whose appearance is obscured by a mask.
On March 21, the family said that Arizonians are the key to finding her.
“Someone knows something. It’s possible a member of this community has information that they do not even realize is significant,” they said.
