Great American Media President Bill Abbott shared his gratitude that his platform could serve as the sole producer and distributor of “America Reads the Bible.”
“This week marks something truly special. For the first time, a continuous, public reading of the Bible is taking place in our nation’s capitol, bringing together men and women from all walks of life, united in faith, reflection, and a shared love of scripture…” Abbott wrote on Instagram. “A special thank you to our own Candace Cameron Bure, whose voice and leadership continue to inspire so many, and to Bunni Pounds, whose vision and determination made this extraordinary event possible. What started as an idea is now a powerful national movement.”
“This is more than a broadcast, it’s a reminder of the power of faith to bring people together across backgrounds, communities, and generations,” Abbott continued. “While much attention has focused on the fact that President Trump will be reading Tuesday, we are proud that every day Americans are reading scripture next to leaders in business entertainment and politics. People from all walks of life, sharing the word without interpretation.”

“America Reads the Bible” began on Saturday, April 18 and will continue through April 25 as the Bible is read in whole at the nation’s capitol. The event features many special guests to read sections of scripture. Along with President Donald Trump, presenters include Patricia Heaton, Franklin Graham, Sec. Mike Pompeo, Sec. Pete Hegseth, Sen. Ted Cruz, Sec. Brooke Rollins, Dallas Jenkins, James Ward, Nick Vujicic and Lisa Bevere.
“I was honored to be the national spokesperson and read Genesis 6-8…” Bure wrote after presenting. “From government officials, to farmers, pastors, entertainers, educators, and every day American moms and dads, and even the President. We are all united and reminded that we are equal in God’s eyes. God’s love for us is so patient. Let us be reminded of His wisdom and goodness for us when we repent and rend our hearts to Him. I’m honored to be a part of @americartbible.”
Other presenters are just as excited to take part in the event and have the opportunity to share scripture and reaffirm the Christian values that our nation is built upon as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
“I’ve been so honored and blessed to be a part of this and get to read one of the chapters of the Word of God out loud…And the reason that I think this is so important is because we are living in an unprecedented time in our country,” said COUNTRY RESCUE star Brett Vravel. “There’s tension, there’s turmoil, there’s strife, there’s anger, there’s hostility, identity crisis all over the place. And the only thing that I believe can bring healing to our land is truth. And truth is found in the Word of God.”
