Candace Cameron Bure shared the simple parenting lesson she has learned from her sister.
“I was the mom who’s like, ‘Here, let me do it for you,’ because I can do it faster and more efficiently, and my sister is the one who would say, ‘Oh, let me show you how to do it, and it’s okay,’” she said during a recent episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast.”

The FULL HOUSE actress joked, “It didn’t bother her if they were eating at one o’clock instead of twelve o’clock,” but praised her sister for being “patient” with her children.
“She really took the time to learn and also not care about the little things and not care about perfection,” Bure explained. “I think it’s a lot about giving ourselves grace, but also…looking at yourself as not only their parent who loves these people, but as a teacher.”
Bure has shared lots of parenting tips over the years, including how to handle the changes that come from parenting adults.
“I have also learned that you don’t lead their lives, they lead their lives,” she said on an episode of the “I’m All In…Again” podcast. “So you’ve got to give some suggestions, you can share your opinion but then you’ve got to back off and let them make whatever choice they want to and you support it because you want to stay in their life.”
Bure and husband Val are parents to Natasha, 27, Lev, 26, and Maksim, 24.
“They were all different in the womb,” she recalled. “It was like, feisty fighter and then one of them was so chill, so easy. We’re all very close but man, sometimes I’ll say to one, ‘Were you not raised in the same home as us?’ Because they’re just wired differently, they have three distinct personalities…but then it’s then fun to figure it out, figure out how you best connect with them, support them and encourage them [and] all of that, but it’s different.”
In a 2023 conversation with The Christian Post, Bure shared how important it was for her to instill faith-filled values in her children.
“I trained my kids up with biblical values, and the Bible is where we started and what we continue to read today,” she said. “Even when my kids were young, I had the fruit of the Spirit lettered on their walls to remind them of all of the fruit of the Spirit: joy, love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control. We talk about those things.
She continued, “I believe in intentional parenting. We taught out of the Bible, and I’m grateful to see that I have adult children today who are all following that road and that path, loving the Lord.”
Whether it’s practicing patience or sharing faith, Bure has always been ready and willing to share her parenting tips!
